Foster & Kombos, LLC is an independent, full-service appraisal company specializing in fine art appraisal and brokerage services.
Fr. Jason Foster
A native of Shreveport, LA, Fr. Jason has brokerage connections throughout the United States to assist with the buying and selling of fine art. His knowledge and network help to ensure his clients needs are met with expertise, confidentiality, and trust.
Fr. Jason also possesses expertise in a variety of fields that assist his work. As a recipient of MA, MDiv, MTh (Oxford University) and PhD (Durham University) degrees, along with serving as an archpriest in the Orthodox Church, Fr. Jason has had the opportunity to study a variety of antiquities, iconography, and manuscripts across England, Greece, Italy, and the United States. While his specialty is religious artwork, Fr. Jason also has a particular interest in artists from the Bayou and the Deep South. He also has extensive work experience in the financial services industry, where he worked for Ernst & Young, LLP, New York Life, and FDL Health Investors.
This diversity of Fr. Jason’s expertise enables him to approach the appraisal process with the competency to appraise art and to understand the various estate, insurance, and or tax implications resulting from his work. He is certified by the International Society of Appraisers (ISA) and the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) and is a member of the North Texas Chapter of the ISA.
Fr. Jason has been married to his wife Ashley for 28 years, and together they have six daughters. He founded the mission parish of the Holy Nativity of the Lord in Shreveport, LA, a community that he still pastors to this day.
Fr. Nasi Kombos
Father Thanasis Kombos is a Texan native who has always appreciated the preservation of the valuable and unique. An Eastern Orthodox parish priest, Father Thanasis has nine years of higher education (one undergraduate and two masters degrees) and for many years worked at his mother’s (Kate Kombos, ISA Accredited Member) home consignment shop where he learned trade in personal property.
More recently, and again following his mother’s footsteps, Father Thanasis chose to pursue personal property appraising. Working under the tutelage of his mother for the last two years, Father Thanasis has gained practical and hands-on appraising experience, including client consultation, appraising, report production, along with other related services. Beginning in 2025, Father Thanasis transitioned to working more independently and now accepts appraising assignments as part of Foster and Kombos Appraising.
